GSCC Community Outreach

More people than ever need the peace and assurance that only Jesus Christ can bring during tough and difficult times in their lives. Grand Strand Community Church has partnered with area ministries in an effort to outreach into our community. The following are the ministries that GSCC is currently supporting.

Street Reach Ministries

Homeless Shelter - www.helpstreetreach.com

Street Reach Mission is a 90 bed facility that provides emergency shelter and supportive services to men and women throughout the Grand Stand area. Their purpose is to present the Gospel, feed the hungry, house the homeless and provide recovery programs for the addicted. They provide 6-9 months housing for individuals recently released from prison. Street Reach serves 8,000 meals monthly.

GSCC provides meals for the mission the 1st Friday of each month and every fifth Sunday. During the winter we provide gloves, hats, scarves and personal toiletries to the homeless who visit the mission.

Prison Evangelism Ministries, Inc.

Bible Study Ministry to Prisoners - www.rjmn.net/organization.html

Over 100 Bible Study course materials are mailed out every month from GSCC to men and women who are currently incarcerated in 18 states, which include South Carolina, and two foreign countries. If they do not have a personal Bible, we provide one for them. For many of these prisoners, we are the only communication to the outside world that they have. The course material requires the student to do an in-depth study of the different books of the Bible. As they progress, they are given an opportunity to ask Jesus into their lives as their Lord and Savior. Many of these prisoners have made life changing decisions as a result of what the Holy Spirit does in their lives through their newly found freedom in Christ.

Seacoast Youth Academy

Structured Residential Program for DSS Youth - seacoastyouthacademy.com

Seacoast Youth Academy is a 38 bed Group Care Intensive Services facility licensed by the SC Department of Social Services. Many of these youth present severe emotional, relational and behavioral management problems. They provide lodging, food and the attentive and responsible care of children that have been entrusted to them by the state. They ensure each child’s physical, social, emotional, educational, nutritional, spiritual/cultural and permanency needs are met.

GSCC has partnered with the Academy to encourage these youth through various outreach activities. As a church body, we have provided cookouts and game days to interact with these children. Their younger children have attended out VBS program, and the teens have become a part of our Youth Group, J.U.M.P. GSCC has provided biblical teaching, training, interpersonal relationships with both peers and youth group leaders. Through their involvement with GSCC’s youth group, many of their teens have opened themselves up to reach out to others and serve the grand strand community through planned service projects of the GSCC youth program, adding to Seacoast Academy’s mission of mainstreaming these children back into society with a changed outlook on life.

Ground Zero Campus Ministries

Ministry to Area Youth - www.groundzeromb.com

Ground Zero’s mission is to empower the Christian Community to lead teenagers to the Cross and the ONE who gave His LIFE there. GZ does this through campus clubs on middle and high school campuses, large area wide events with convention quality speakers and bands, and by offering training and ministry opportunities for professional and volunteer youth workers. As they reach teens for Christ, GZ plugs them into local partnering churches for discipleship training. GSCC has partnered with this successful ministry to teens through financial and physical support of their activities.
